With the NBA offseason affairs in full swing, 2K Sports is ready to start pulling back the curtains on the next game in its basketball sim franchise. NBA 2K24 is arriving this fall, and we got our first look at the cover, which features the legendary Kobe Bryant, last week. The publisher also made the major announcement that 2K24 will feature crossplay between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S for the first time in series history.

2K Sports announced crossplay for NBA 2K24 in a new trailer that taps into the hype of finally being able to play with and against players on the opposite console. The publisher has also confirmed that there won’t be any restraints or asterisks to the new capabilities — NBA 2K24 will be fully crossplay in all of its online modes. Unfortunately, there won’t be any crossplay for those on PC.

It’s a timely move, as EA Sports recently announced that Madden NFL 24 will also introduce crossplay to the long-running series. There’s currently no release date for NBA 2K24, but we can expect it to arrive sometime in the fall.
