To celebrate fifty years of hip-hop, Call of Duty is bringing rap superstars Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage into the battlefield for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 5.
Earlier today, the official Call of Duty twitter account posted pictures of both Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg’s operators alongside a plethora of new additions coming in the next season. Unfortunately, Call of Duty isn’t showing 21 Savage’s skin just yet, but we did at least get a silhouette of the operator.
Nicki Minaj’s Operator is pictured with a full-on bright pink gun, while Snoop Dogg’s is holding a blue and gold coated gun, which look to be glimpses of their respective bundles.
Snoop Dogg will be available first when Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 drops on August 2, followed a bit later by Nicki Minaj, and lastly 21 Savage in the middle of the season.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Hip Hop Celebration
In another effort to celebrate fifty years of the hip hop genre, Call of Duty is giving out free hip hop War Tracks to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players.
Call of Duty via a Season 5 announcement posted, “As part of Call of Duty celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop, everyone will receive free hip hop War Tracks for logging in between August 7 and August 16.”
In order to unlock the new hip hop War Tracks, all you’ll have to do is log in to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on three different days between August 7 and August 16.
“The first three days will grant a War Track from the ’80s (Foundation), ’90s (Golden Era), or 2000s (Life After Y2K),” announced Activision via the Call of Duty Season 5 announcement. Additionally, players that log in on a fourth day in this time period will earn a “special Weapon Blueprint that can be used in any online mode.”
In addition to the new Operators and War Tracks, we also got a sneak peek at some of the new weapons coming to Season 5 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, including the FR Avcancer and M13C assault rifles, the Carrack .300 sniper rifle, and a classified handgun and SMG.
