Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a choice-based narrative adventure game developed by Summerfall Studios, which puts a spin on the genre that we haven’t seen before – it’s an interactive musical. Initially revealed just last year, the musical adventure has finally gotten its release date of August 3rd in a two-minute trailer posted on the official Summerfall Studios YouTube channel.

The trailer shows a brief artistic preview of the story, written by former Dragon Age writer, David Gaider, and its protagonist, Grace, voiced by Laura Bailey. We also get a peek at various characters from the cast voiced by recognizable names such as Ashley Johnson, Rahul Kohli, Merle Dandridge, and Troy Baker, who is also the voice director on the game. The music is directed by Austin Wintory, who won the BAFTA Games Award for Original Score for 2012’s Journey, and has composed for several other acclaimed games including Abzu, The Pathless, and The Banner Saga.

Stray Gods is “an epic tale of gods, magic, and a millennium-long journey to rediscover one’s purpose,” as described on the official Stray Gods website, and is Summerfall Studios’ first game. The studio was formed in 2017 between David Gaider, Liam Esler, and Elie Young. Previously known as Chorus, Stray Gods successfully received funding on Fig.co in 2019, and partnered with Humble Games in 2022.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical will be available on August 3rd for PC through Steam and the Humble Store.
